BACKGROUND

Thanks to some great initial work carried out by Malcolm Stringer (1968-1975) and the late Bob Taverner (1940-1947) in conjunction with Croydon Archives, we are embarking on a major project to electronically catalogue the details of every teacher who taught at Selhurst Boys' School.

Work began in 2008 and we now have an Excel spreadsheet that is being updated on a regular basis by Roger Cox (1953-1960) who has also volunteered to manage the project.

Brian Roote (1944-1949) for his invaluable contributions in helping us to fill many of the gaps.

The database contents are created from the records held at Croydon Archives and information gathered from Old Croydonians themselves through conversation, email and other communication sources.

It is a live project and the database is updated frequently.

If you can help with details about any of the teachers that YOU were taught by, please get in touch. We are also interested in those of you who would like to 'quality-check' the document.
