Legend update: 16 September 2008 from John Robertson (1948-1955)
The 'unknown' next to Lambourne (2nd row from back) is Byfield (Biff). A good friend and great to see his photo. He had not long joined Selhurst as his family had moved into the area. I believe his father held a position in the Salvation Army. |

In the photo "1959-60 Harriers", the person standing on the extreme left is me. Sorry, but I don't remember any of the other missing names - Anthony Moreton

On 8 January 2007 Andy Parry (1962-1970) emailed us. I am almost certain that the unnamed player on the left next to Charles Oakley is Brian Ford, who taught (me) A level zoology and I think O level Biology.

XV 1949-50
Our thanks to Derek (1937-41), Delta
and Pam Waller, who scanned and sent this in
Update: March 2008. Leslie Olive comments:
I do not think this is the school team as they always played in red and white hoops.
John Ashe is second right back row and he joined the school withh me in 1939. I left
in '44 so the latest John could have been there would have beenn 1947. I think Bernard
Heinman is 3rd left in the backrow and he was with us in the same form. I think
Norman Webb is standing beside the coach onthe left and he was considerably older than us. |

Keith Phair added the following information on 8/2/2006
"The guy with the hunched shoulders in the middle of the back row is Roger Vince and the fourth to his right [just right of "Kayum" - though I'm not certain it is Kayum] is Graham Hart and the guy to his right was in Delta with a name something like Coulter [though thats not it!! - he'll have been in the 4th form in 1969, maybe 4b1/4b2.."
Chris Tagart added the following information on 11/12/2006
"The photo credited as the 1969 athletics team is in fact the cross-country team 1969-70.
Several names I can fill in from memory:-
Backrow - 'Coulter' is in fact Barnett he was in Delta, I think 3A. It is definitely Donald Kayum in the back row
2nd Row between Hull and Pomeroy is Blackburn and my name is Chris Tagart (not the spelling of the deceased Scots detective)
3rd Row - The teacher far right is Alan Jameson, who ran the team and taught RE.
Front row - Between Loxton and Ings is Paul Brown.
