Back Row: Unknown; the next is possibly Lawrence, School Secretary - she is in the 1919 picture, which narrows the possible field, where she is dressed formally and wearing headgear, unlike all the others present, and her perceived age, around mid fifties, also fits the bill; she served the school from 1910 to 1932, when she presumably retired at about the age of sixty; Heslop; Rea (though she looks older here than she does later in 1934); Postlethwaite (very young - about 23 or so here); Harris; Unknown. Middle Row: A Smith; Fryer; Moncrieff; Beardsell; Wellman; Jones; Dexter (booklet says Richards): Nursey. Front Row: Richards; Baggs; Moorhouse; Unknown; Britts (booklet says Dexter). Of the other names listed in the booklet for the "Unknowns", our information shows that Miss Allen and Miss Bolton both left the school in 1919, which eliminates them from our enquiries insofar as the 1925 picture is concerned. This leaves us with Misses Chalmers, Collyer, Gray, K Smith and White to identify. Of these, only Miss Gray was employed at the school before 1919, and would probably be in that picture also, which possibly makes her a candidate for being the person that I have suggested above as Miss Lawrence, though that person in the 1925 photo cannot possibly be 36 years old, unless teaching the Selhurst girls was a task that induced premature aging to a spectacular extent.
